Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies assisted the Minnesota State Patrol in a high speed chase on Interstate 35 south at 2:38 p.m. Friday. Deputy Greg Beaver of the Mitchell County, Iowa, sheriff’s department was off duty and driving southbound on I-35 when he called in the report. He reported another car driving on I-35 southbound passed his car at a high rate of speed near the Blooming Prairie exit. Allen William Zimmerman was cited for careless driving.
