Tigers volleyball drops opener to Farmington 3-1
Published 12:17am Friday, August 26, 2011The Albert Lea Tigers volleyball team dropped its season opener Thursday 3-1 to Farmington.
Farmington beat the Tigers 25-13, 25-15, 23-25, 25-23.
“I’m proud of this team for not giving up,” Tigers coach Jamie Mauseth said. “I think we’ve got a lot of great things to come. If we play like we did in sets No. 3 and 4 we’re going to be very competitive.”
Annie Ladwig led the Tigers with 14 kills, and Bryn Woodside added 24 set assists. Claire Buendorf had six kills, and Kelsey Loverink and Sydney Rehnelt each had five kills.
The Tigers play again at 7:30 p.m. Monday against Southland in Adams.
