- The United Way of Freeborn County recently received a grant of $12,000 from the Kenneth W. Olson Charitable Foundation Fund of Minnesota Community Foundation. These funds are included in the 2011 campaign and will go to help a variety of community organizations throughout 2012. The United Way campaign kicked off Sept. 1 and will run until Dec. 31.
