Here are highlights in history for Dec. 30, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:traditions

1991 — A Tribune article featured Lisa Joel, 17, who was serving as a skate guard at the Albert Lea City Arena.

1981 — Love Cruikshank, Tribune Family Page Editor and staff member, retired after 32 years. She had been with the newspaper at the Broadway Avenue and College Street location and the newer West Front Street site.

1941 — The Albert Lea City Council voted approval for an indoor ice skating rink in the 4-H building at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds.
