Here are highlights in history for Dec. 11, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:

1990 — Robin Laumann filed for election to become Albert Lea’s Third Ward representative on the city council. This seat became available when incumbent Marv Wangen was elected mayor.

1980 — Interstate Power Co. was considering a plan to shut off electrical service to air conditioners or water heaters to conserve energy during peak consumption times.

1950 — The Albert Lea Packers hockey team, coached by John Luney, included the following players: Warren Johnson, Carl Johnsrud, Bob Jenson, Billy Brook, Red Johnson, Kenny Westrum, Rob Evenson, Don Woodward and Dick Lindell.
