Here are highlights in history for Dec. 21, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1990 — A Tribune article had several tips for people who would be ice fishing.
1980 — The Albert Lea Salvation Army was preparing food and gifts for 134 families in the city. Donations from the kettle campaign and food from a student drive at Southwest Junior High School would be used for this Christmas campaign.
1960 — Plans for construction of Interstate 90 from Petran Corner to Dexter were shown to the Freeborn County Board and Albert Lea City Council by the State Highway Department.
