The Wa Tan Ye Service Club met on March 5. President Dorothy Wedge called the meeting to order. Alice Petersen read the minutes of the last meeting. She also gave the treasurer’s report. Both were approved and placed on file. Petersen also read a letter from Peggy Niles; the association secretary. She encouraged everyone to attend the district meeting in April.
The group collected $38, which will be given to the food shelf. They signed up to sell dish cloths at Northbridge Mall on March 10.
Three anniversaries were recognized: Shiriey Chase was reinstated on March 1, 1996. Bev Head and Delores Weller joined the Wa Tan Ye Club on March 4, 1991. The meeting was adjourned. Marie Quema was the hostess.
Robiri and Greg Gudal and Rick Miller from Youth for Christ talked to the group about Youth for Christ. They told the group about the young people they work with. They have Prairie River Camp, which is open year around and can accommodate day groups and overnight groups. They spoke of their plans for the future. It was a very interesting, informative presentation.
The group’s next meeting will be April 2.
