Burglary reported at Taco John’s

A burglary was reported at Taco John’s, 2225 E. Main St., at 6:06 a.m. Thursday, according to police. Police indicated someone pried into the back door of the restaurant between 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday. A safe was pried into and the next day’s operating cash was taken.
Deputies cite man for burning violation
Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies cited Daniel John Kirsch for burning prohibited materials after receiving a call from someone near the intersection of 770th Avenue and 170th Street, southeast of Albert Lea, who believed Kirsch was burning tires. The incident happened at about 11:35 a.m. Thursday.
Young man faces felony charges
AUSTIN — An Austin teen who allegedly became aggressive at his residence after someone turned him into police for possessing marijuana was charged Thursday in Mower County District Court.
Michale Allen Dieser, 18, faces three charges: felony second-degree assault, misdemeanor fifth-degree assault and misdemeanor fourth-degree damage to property. Officers learned that Dieser became aggressive shortly after someone turned him in for allegedly possessing marijuana.
According to the court complaint, Dieser punched and kicked walls, fought with another man and then threw a hammer at him. The complaint states that the man who intervened also complained that the hammer hit his shin.
Dieser’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 3.
Tractor damaged by rifle shots
A tractor was reportedly shot with a rifle overnight Wednesday on 160th Street west of U.S. Highway 65, near Glenville, according to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports. The incident was reported at 9:14 a.m. Thursday.
Woman reportedly bit by cat
A woman at 354 S. Hillcrest Circle in Clarks Grove was reportedly bit by a feral cat at her house on Wednesday. She reportedly went to the emergency room at a local hospital and reported the incident to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies at about 1:56 p.m. Thursday.
