Murray votes against education

Teachers, parents and community members should be furious with Rep. Rich Murray and the Republican-led majority. The introduction of 22 pieces of anti-teacher legislation, cuts to education and a state budget balanced on the backs of our children may make them the most anti-education legislature in history. And, remember, Rich Murray is a part of this majority.

While he came to our meetings and listened to our suggestions, he did not hear what we said. His votes did not demonstrate respect for teachers as professionals. His votes did not demonstrate support of education. Instead, his votes simply echoed the metro majority. In the long run, it matters less what our representative says when he’s at home and more about how he votes when he’s in St. Paul.
