Two people were injured Saturday in an automobile crash on West Main Street in Albert Lea.

Wendy Lowe, 54, and Ellis Kai Kane-Howard, 10, were taken by ambulance to the emergency room of the Albert Lea hospital.

According to the Albert Lea Police Department, Scott Michael Iverson, a 49-year-old man from Albert Lea, was westbound on Main at about 11:30 a.m. in a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am when he failed to stop at the stoplight for First Avenue.

His car struck a 1990 Toyota headed northbound on First, according to police. The Toyota was driven by 22-year-old Albert Lea resident Ashta Ashante Kane. The Toyota then struck a 1997 Buick headed south on First. It was driven by Gerald Joseph Jensen, 65, of Clarks Grove.

Lowe and Kane-Howard were passengers in Kane’s car.

No alcohol was involved, and it was unclear whether everyone had their seat belts on.
