The carnival worker who gave birth in a bathroom at the Freeborn County Fair on Tuesday evening was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. She declined to be interviewed, and the Albert Lea Tribune respects her wishes.

Todd Merriam of Merriam’s Midway Shows said some churches in Albert Lea are collecting baby supplies and clothing. The parents both work for the Texas-based carnival. The mother is from Minnesota, and arrangements are being made so that after she leaves the Albert Lea hospital she will spend time with her family instead of going back on the road with the carnival.
