Music at fair was just too loud
Published 10:31am Tuesday, August 7, 2012I thought that the volume of the music at much of the entertainment at the Freeborn County Fair was out of control. There were some exceptions, like Charley Pride in the Grandstand, and a couple of others at Entertainment Square. It is good if the instruments are not all fighting to be louder than each other and the singing performer. I didn’t get to all the Entertainment Square performances, but there again, The Good-Timers had their volume under control and were comfortable to listen to while they performed.

I was actually able to hear a couple of the acts from my house 3 miles away with all of the windows and doors in my house closed. Usually I can hear them faintly from my deck, but Thompson Square, for example, was clear as day as if they were right down the street. It was ridiculous and out of control.
Well I guess we better ban the fair then?
Everyone has to have something to complain about i guess. For the short time that the concerts actually go on, let people have fun and enjoy it. The fair only comes once a year and, for most people its when they actually go out and have something to do in this town.
