The No. 3 seeded Alden-Conger girls’ summer basketball team took second place in the South Central Minnesota Summer Basketball League playoffs in Janesville on July 31. They defeated the No. 6 seeded Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 46-38 and the No. 2 United South Central team 36-34 before losing to the No. 1 seed undefeated Mankato-Loyola 54-47 in the championship game.
