Column: Aymee Hanna, From the Fair

Even though the weekend brought with it some rain, it didn’t stop over 200,000 people from attending the fair. Thursday’s attendance was 103,738 and Friday’s attendance was 107,040, with Saturday’s and Sunday’s numbers still not in. So as you can tell, rain or shine Minnesota loves their fair!

My highlight of the weekend was taking in the Sunny Sweeny/Blake Shelton concert. I have never been much of a Blake Shelton fan, but since I was here I agreed to go with one of my friends. This guy was awesome! Even if you are not into country, he definitely  puts on a great show. He even surprised us with bringing his wife, Miranda Lambert, on stage to join him in singing his country hit “Hillbilly Bone.”

I had never heard of Sunny Sweeny, the opening act for Blake, but that girl can sing! Do not miss the chance to see her in concert if you ever get the opportunity.

Speaking of the music at the fair, if you’re coming up today, the band “Hairball” is playing tonight. I’ve seen these guys a couple times, not only are they good, but they are funny! And the best part? They are free with the admission into the fair! So you know where I will be tonight, hope to see you here!
