Government is not the solution

Published 10:14am Monday, September 17, 2012

I believe that this will be the most important election in the past 100 years if not ever. I firmly believe that this country is on the wrong road Democrats believe that government is the answer to all this country’s problems. They believe that if they throw enough money at a problem it will be solved. If that were true, the War on Poverty would have been won decades ago.

Most people do not understand that decisions made in Washington have a major impact on state and local taxes. Many of the programs, rules and regulations coming out of Washington are aimed at state and local governments. Most of these mandates are not funded, which means higher state and local taxes.

The result is we are not only growing the national government but state and local government, also.

If Barack Obama remains in power all units of government will grow and all levels of taxation will grow.

This is why I am voting for Mitt Romney, and encouraging everyone I know to do so also. Obama has been the least-qualified and most-divisive president this country has ever had.

Great letter Don. President Obama’s world view is to diminish the United States. If re-elected, he will waste no time in accomplishing this. Look around you. Are you better off than you were four years ago? Is the country better off? Is marriage, family and unborn children better off? Do you have more religious freedom now or less? Face it, we elected a president four years ago based on hope and change. He has spent us into oblivion and has barely moved the meter on unemployment. The world is more dangerous than ever and he is barely engaged. Instead of meeting with Netanyahu, he’s meeting with intelletual heavyweights like David Letterman and other Hollywood elites. It is time for the President to join the ranks of the unemployed.

“least-qualified and most-divisive president this country has ever had?” Don has a short memory. George W. Bush hasn’t been gone that long. As Jesse Ventura said recently, we are better off than 4 years ago because Bush is gone.
