The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 56 of Albert Lea held their meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 in the Legion dining room. The chaplain Jenny Torgerson led us in prayer, a moment of silence in memory of our dead (“Taps” played). Pledge of Allegiance was recited and one stanza of the national anthem was sung. The Preamble to the American Legion Auxiliary was read by everyone.

Secretary Vonnie Oftedahl read the secretary minutes of the June meeting. Treasurer Rita Andersen gave her report. Both were approved.

The speaker was American Legion Post Commander Roger Bakken. He informed the group of changes and improvements at the club and of future activities to keep the club open. Question and answer time was then held.
