The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee is hosting a public forum for the Albert Lea School District school board election.

The forum will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 in the City Council Chambers. Incumbent school board members Bill Leland, Linda Laurie, Kim Nelson and Jeshua Erickson and challengers Jenny Edwin and Julie Johnson have been invited.

The event will be broadcast live on the city’s government access channel as well as KQPR Power 96 FM. The forum is expected to last 90 minutes. KIMT anchor Raquel Hellman will moderate.

There will an opportunity for each candidate to make an opening statement for two minutes. The balance of the forum will consist of written questions supplied by audience members. To submit a question, prior to the forum, please direct your emails to alfccoc@albertlea.org. The Governmental Affairs Committee members will be responsible for gathering and submitting the written questions. The panel moderator will read the questions submitted. All candidates will be allowed to answer if they so desire. Answers will be limited to one minute in order to address the greatest number of questions.
