Lake Mills rolls to big win

LAKE MILLS — The Lake Mills football team improved to 3-2 for the season with a victory at home Friday over Belmond-Klemme.

The Bulldogs trounced the Broncos 41-0, notching 193 rushing yards and 221 passing yards for a total of 414 yards. Belmond-Klemme had 184 yards.

Lake Mills’ Jon Erickson scored on a 2-yard run and an 89-yard catch, both with successful points after by Byron McDougall, making the score 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. Hunter Kingland tossed the long pass.

Kingland’s 1-yard run brought the score to 21-0 at the half.

Taylor Nelson scored on a 32-yard pass from Kingland in the third quarter. In the fourth, Paul Pins had a 63-yard punt return for a touchdown and Andy Dahle had a 7-yard TD run.

McDougall’s only miss came on the final touchdown.

The Bulldogs benefitted from three fumble recoveries, two of them by Dahle and the other by Andrew Olsen.
