Salem Lutheran Church of Albert Lea is pleased to install Eileen Nelson Ness as its new organist, starting Sunday.

“We are very excited to begin a new chapter of ministry with Eileen and to work together to help share the good news of Jesus in our lives,” said Rev. Mark Niethammer, pastor of Salem Lutheran Church.

Niethammer invites everyone to join them in welcoming Ness at this Sunday’s 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services. Sunday School and adult education begin at 9:15 a.m.

Worship at Salem Lutheran Church is traditional in nature. Celebrating Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays of the month, Salem follows a familiar order of service and sings great hymns of the faith, both new and old.

Other upcoming events at Salem Lutheran Church include the following: Sept. 9 will be a kick-off of the new academic year with blessing of backpacks and blessing of those who work in education; Sept. 16 will be distribution of Bibles to 3-year-olds and third-graders along with a new adult education series focusing on what it means to be a Lutheran in a changing world.
