You Can Help

Here are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.

Volunteer drivers: You can help seniors maintain their independence when they are no longer able to drive to their appointments. Ride Services of Freeborn County needs additional drivers for one or more half or full days a week. Drivers are reimbursed for mileage and receive trainings. Call Senior Resources at 377-7433 for additional information and to volunteer.

Big Island Rendezvous: Just five more Rendezvous School Days tour guides are needed to ensure that classes get to their appointed area on schedule. Come to Senior Resources, on the south side of Skyline Plaza or call 377-7433 to sign up as a guide and get your shuttle pass from volunteer parking at Northbridge Mall. You are to report for orientation at 8 a.m. on the day you can be a guide, Oct. 4 and 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. When you help one or both days, you get free admission to the weekend.
