Voter ID only hinders voting
Published 5:47am Sunday, October 28, 2012There are simpler and less costly ways to verify voter ID than the amendment on our ballot this year.
Former President Jimmy Carter and his Carter Institute have monitored more elections around the world than any other organization in the history of our country. Recently at Drake University in Iowa, President Carter said that voter ID restrictions anywhere in the world only serve one purpose, and that is to keep people from voting.
He also said that most countries finance their elections only with public funds. If we would each check the box on our tax form that gives $2 to the general election fund, that would be the fairest way to finance elections in this country.
Former Gov. Arne Carlson said in an AARP forum last week that the voter ID amendment on our ballot would deny the vote to some seniors, veterans, college students and others in transition. Also, the equipment to produce and people to verify state-generated IDs would be very costly. This amendment, if passed, would immediately be challenged in court because a constitutional amendment must have bipartisan support, and this does not. Court proceedings would waste millions of tax dollars. Vote no on the voter ID amendment.

You lost me at Jimmy Carter for credibility, most vets have I.D. cards anyway but you would know that if you knew a vet this is more of the same hand wringing from the left, maybe one should ask why they want to make it easy to cheat and disenfranchise the legal voter?

If someone has it set in their mind to commit voter fraud.

Do you think some volunteer in the basement of a church checking voters off her list is going to fish out whether an id is fake or not!?!

Al I don’t know maybe it’s because liberal/progressive/socialist/communist thinking groups have been caught doing dirty work manipulating the system I know you have heard of cloward and piven. In the president’s home town the dead still vote and people voting early and often that corrupts the system and disenfranchises the legitimate voter.
One cannot say that a little voter fraud in nothing to worry about when elections are decided by hundreds of votes and you know that. It will not cost millions to do and we should have accountability and security in our elections.
Al voting is no joke people need to take this seriously and your party has spread lies and 1/4 truths to distort and deceive it’s all an effort to get people to become sheeple that is what you want.
Why are liberal/progressive groups want it easy to cheat?
Both parties are at fault for the way the country is, it is not “we the people” anymore. We need to do away with the party system. Just because the candidate is dem or rep they are voted for, doesn’t matter if they are any good or not. Worse thing that ever happened to this country is parties!
