Anna Johnson, Northfield

Funeral services for Anna Johnson will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Katie Fick will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Anna died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield.

Anna Josephine Johnson was born March 25, 1916, to James and Josephine (Kycek) Saman in Hayward Township. Anna attended school in London Township and worked at various places. On Sept. 25, 1946, Anna was united in marriage to Maynard Johnson at the Hayward parsonage. She and her husband farmed in the London area for many years. After their retirement they moved to Myrtle. Anna was a homemaker and enjoyed baking and cooking. She was well known for her kolaches. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and gardening. Anna was a member of Trondjem Lutheran Church where she was a part of church circle.

Survivors include her daughter Kathleen Flanary and special friend Mike Hollman of Richfield; grandchildren, James (Bridgett) Flanary of Germantown, Wis., and Melissa (Ryan) Wiste of Northfield; great-grandchildren: Joseph, Breanna and Britney Flanary; and several nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Maynard; son-in-law Joseph Flanary; sister Margaret Ziebell and brothers: Tony, James and Ludvik Saman.
