Man, 55, injured in crash

A 55-year-old Prior Lake man received minor injuries Wednesday after a crash on Freeborn County Road 46 near the Interstate 35 overpass.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Dwight W. Sevaldson was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea after the crash at about 12:30 p.m.

The report states Sevaldson was driving a 2011 Audi Q7 west on County Road 46 when the car was side-swiped by a 1996 Freightliner semi, driven by Roy W. Hinners, 82, of Laurens, Iowa. Hinners was reportedly making a lane change from the left to the right lane at the time of the crash.

Hinners was not injured.

The Albert Lea Police Department and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

 

Man arrested for DWI

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Ricky Allyn Lance for driving while intoxicated after authorities received a call of a car that was driving all over the road on Minnesota Highway 13 near Manchester at 1:09 a.m. today. Juhlie Ann Mosloski was also cited for open bottle violation.

 

Lawn ornaments taken

A concrete turtle, estimated to weigh about 150 pounds, was reported taken from 105 McArthur Drive at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday, police stated. Value was estimated at $200.

 

Gas driveoff reported

A gas driveoff was reported at SuperAmerica, 23087 Minnesota Highway 13, at 11:01 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. About $45 in gasoline was taken.

 

Combine fire reported

A combine was reported on fire at 23394 850th Ave., northeast of Hayward, at 7:04 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Cars damaged

A car was reported keyed at 1005 Gene Ave. at 2:21 p.m. Wednesday.

A car was reported damaged at 223 1/2 E. College St. at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, police stated.

 

Items stolen

Items were reported taken from a boat in storage at 1609 Crystal Drive at 9:02 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

 

Students evacuated 

Albert Lea High School students were evacuated from the school just before 1 p.m. Tuesday after a gas smell was reported at the school. Bad gas valves were found in a science room.

 

Garage broken into

A garage was reported broken into at 808 Bridge Ave., at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. Items were reported taken.

 

Theft reported

A theft was reported from turkey barns at 26749 760th Ave., south of Clarks Grove. at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday.
