Minnesota Wild’s Zach Parise Heads Up Oct. 28 Charity Game at Mariucci Arena

Hockey fans eager to get a glimpse of new Wild forward Zach Parise on the ice should get a chance when Parise and other pro players participate in a charity game for Defending The Blue Line at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 at Mariucci Arena, the charity announced Thursday, Oct. 4.
The availability of Parise and other players locked out by the NHL during the league’s labor impasse will depend, the charity pointed out, on whether he and others have signed interim contracts to play in Europe until the NHL and the NHL Players Association reach a collective bargaining agreement.
Defending The Blue Line is a non-profit created by members of Minnesota’s National Guard. The charity assists military families with costs associated with hockey including financial assistance for registration fees, equipment, summer camps and tickets to attend NHL hockey games.
Tickets for the game will go on sale for $20 on Oct. 8 at www.mygophersports.com , and will cost $30 at the door. The charity announced that if the NHL lockout ends before Oct. 28, tickets will be for a different game or ticket money will be directed to the charity.
