Was government job not appreciated?Published 9:11am Monday, November 12, 2012
In answer to a letter to editor printed Nov. 8, it is upsetting to me as a taxpayer that my taxes go to a person to pay his salary and benefits, and he doesn’t appreciate it at all. If he wasn’t happy with a union job, he could have asked for a transfer or to quit at any time. He could have looked for a non-union job that wouldn’t pay as much as he was enjoying.intervals
He said two years after he was hired, he was forced into the union and he voted no. It sounds like he is talking out of both sides of his mouth. Which was it? Forced into the union or did your fellow workers and you vote it in? I wonder if the union knew how you felt about them when they went to bat for you when you screwed up.
You didn’t mention how you called Barack Obama a bully for picking on the top 1 percent, a minority, as you called it. I want to be in this minority. This sounds like something that came off of Fox News. Have you listened to Fox News lately? They are trying to figure out where they went wrong. Every Republican they had on before the election talked about reducing taxes. The ordinary Joes have figured it out that they weren’t talking about them. They are only concerned with the people making $250,000 or more. When you ask an ordinary Joe why he voted for a Republican, he will tell you more often than not it is because they want to reduce his taxes.
The poorest states in the union are down South. They are all run by Republicans. It’s just a matter of time until the voters down there figure out that when a Republican talks about reducing taxes that they are not talking about them. I want to thank all the independents who voted for the Democrats and weren’t schleckered into voting Republican. I hope in 2016 we can get rid of a few more Republicans. Keep an eye on them. They are going to do everything they can think of to hurt Obama.
Remember, we are all going to have to pay in some way or another for this Bush-Cheney deficit. Let’s hope big money pays its fair share.
