The Albert Lea Police Department conducted alcohol compliance checks on Nov. 16. Officers supervised young adults under age 21 who attempted to buy alcohol at 33 establishments.

Employees at two establishments, Legend’s Bar and Eastside Liquor, made illegal sales. Both asked and received current Minnesota driver’s licenses before completing the sale.

Clerks who sell alcohol to minors are charge with a gross misdemeanor. Also, establishments are subject to having the alcohol license suspended.
