BIWABIK — Warm weather is prompting Giants Ridge in northeastern Minnesota to postpone the opening of its ski area.

The Biwabik resort said it will not open its ski area this Friday. Giants Ridge has tentatively rescheduled the opening for Saturday, Dec. 1.

According to a posting on the resort’s website and Facebook page, the weather is expected to get colder this weekend, allowing crews to resume snow-making.
