Members of the South Central Drug Investigative Unit arrested three Albert Lea residents early Tuesday morning during a drug raid of their home.

Law enforcement officials discovered 43 firearms, 1.1 pounds of hallucinogenic mushrooms, 5.1 ounces of marijuana and 4 grams of methamphetamine in the raid of 607 E. 11th St. in Albert Lea, according to Albert Lea Police Lt. J.D. Carlson.

The raid began after authorities received a tip that a felon who lives at the residence was unlawfully in possession of drugs and firearms.

The South Central Drug Investigative Unit, made up of law enforcement officers from Waseca, Faribault, Steele and Freeborn counties, was called in, along with the investigative unit’s SWAT team.

Carlson said the raid took place at 12:06 a.m. Tuesday, and residents living nearby would have heard loud noises coming from the house because officers set off two flash bangs, or distraction devices, before entering the house.

Carlson said a 10-year-old child was found sleeping in the basement and was brought into the Law Enforcement Center and then released to a grandmother.

Arrested were the following:

• Brock Martin Eckstein, 48, of Albert Lea for being in possession of a firearm as a felon, second-degree possession of illegal mushrooms, fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine and fifth-degreee possession of marijuana.

• Erwin Leroy Eckstein, 50, of Albert Lea for being in possession of a firearm as a felon.

• Lacy Rose Carlsen, 34, of Albert Lea, for fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine.

Carlson said a fourth adult was taken into custody but was later released.

The Ecksteins and Carlsen are expected to appear in Freeborn County District Court today to be charged.
