MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins have hired from within to fill some open spots in their organization.

Brad Steil was named Thursday their new director of minor league operations, replacing Jim Rantz, who retired after a 52-year career with the Twins. Steil, a native of Litchfield, was the director of baseball operations for the last five years.

On the medical side, Dave Pruemer was promoted to head athletic trainer to replace Rick McWane, who was dismissed. Pruemer was McWane’s assistant for the last eight seasons.
