Vikings might lose Guion, regain Carlson

Vikings nose tackle Letroy Guion has turf toe and is in jeopardy of being sidelined Nov. 11, when Minnesota (5-4) faces the Detroit Lions (4-4) at the Metrodome.

The prognosis is better for tight end John Carlson, who is expected to rejoin the Vikings for practice Wednesday. He missed the last two games after suffering a concussion Oct. 21 against the Arizona Cardinals, not the first he has endured in his career.

Carlson, who missed most of training camp with a knee injury after spending the 2011 season on injured reserve with the Seahawks, has been a nonfactor since signing a five-year, $25 million free agent contract.

Frazier said doctors were scheduled to examine Carlson on Monday, but the team expected him to be cleared for practice.
