Kiester for a Cure donates more than $15,000 to A.L. hospitalPublished 1:00pm Thursday, January 3, 2013
Kiester for a Cure recently donated $15,407 to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. The donation will be divided between the cancer center, hospice and radiology departments according to a news release.
The cancer center will use the donation for patient care needs; hospice will use the donation for pediatric bereavement camp scholarships and other program needs; and radiology will use the donation to purchase a recliner for patients needing to rest and recover after stereotactic biopsies and other patient comfort items. The cancer center also received five iPads with covers for patients and their family members to use while in the cancer center.
Kiester for a Cure raises funds through bowling, a silent auction, dance and other activities. This year’s event is called “All Hands in for a Cure” and will be held Feb. 15 and 16 in Kiester.
