Albert Lea High School’s One Act Play group has advanced to section finals, which takes place today.

Scenes from “The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the Moon Marigolds”, Albert Lea High School’s entry in the one-act play competition, took first place at the South Sub-sectional competition held in Winona on Jan. 25. The play now advances to the section finals, which will be at Lakeville South High School today.

The cast includes students Solveig Lange, Julia Otten, Emma Behling, Isabel Ehrhardt and Hanna Kingstrom. It is directed by Lilah Aas.

Albert Lea will be performing at 3:45 p.m., followed by plays from groups from Eastview High School, Kasson-Mantorville High School, and Lakeville South High School. The event is free and open to the public.

From the section finals, one school will advance to the state festival that will be held on Feb. 7 at St. Catherine University in St. Paul.
