ALHS bowling team places 2nd in league

The Albert Lea High School bowling team finished second in the South Central High School bowling league.

Other teams in the league are from Faribault, Owatonna, St. Peter and Mankato. Albert Lea also finished second in the conference tournament which qualified them to bowl in the MQT tournament in Maple Grove. At that tournament, the team placed fifth out of 20 teams. The team has an average of 193, the seventh highest average in state rankings out of 135 teams.

As an individual Espe was awarded a plaque for making the All-Conference team. Espe recorded 86.02 percent of 186 frames bowled. The bowling team also has a junior varsity team which includes Crystal Skogheim, Rachel Reichl, Paige Boser, Mario Balatzar, Carissa Freeman, Jerry Halstead and Brianna Oftedahl.
