The memorial service for Dale Ernest Bangert will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dale passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012. He was 77 years old.

Dale was born in Albert Lea on July 31, 1935. The son of Ernest and Violet (Seberson) Bangert, he attended Albert Lea schools and was a lifelong resident. On June 6, 1959, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Smith in Albert Lea. Together they raised four children.

Dale worked at Wilson & Co. until his retirement in the ’90s. After retiring he worked as a custodian at the school district for 10 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Eagles, Moose and the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, the outdoors, traveling and was an avid birdwatcher. His family was one of the most important things in his life.

Dale is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; and brother, Duane.

He is survived by his children, Tami (Kevin) Strand of Albert Lea, Jodi (Kevin) Willette of Blooming Prairie, Jon (Terin) Bangert of Albert Lea, and Andy Bangert of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Jenny Strand and her fiancé Kyle of Blooming Prairie, Ashley Strand and her fiancé Jeremy of Albert Lea, Josh Strand and special friend Amanda of Albert Lea, Jill Willette and her fiancé Trevor of Rochester, Janelle Willette and her fiancé Al of St. Louis Park, Jamie Willette of Rochester, Jeremy Willette of Blooming Prairie, Drew Bangert of Albert Lea, Avery Bangert of Albert Lea, and Jordan Bangert of Albert Lea; great granddaughter, Macy Brink; brother Dave (Penny) Bangert of Arizona; nieces and nephews; and other loving relatives and friends.
