HOLLANDALE — Two women were injured Saturday night west of Hollandale when a teenager ran a stop sign, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Tyler Trihus, 17, of Blooming Prairie was headed north on Freeborn County Road 26 in a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta when he rolled through the stop sign at the junction with Minnesota Highway 251, the State Patrol says in an incident report.

The Jetta struck a 2005 Buick LeSabre, causing minor injuries to Henrietta Weeks, 71, who was driving, and passenger Kim Weeks, 45, both of Hollandale, according to the report.

The crashed happened at 7:14 p.m., the report states. County 26 intersects Highway 251 two miles west of Hollandale.

Trihus was uninjured.

No alcohol was involved, and all three were wearing seat belts. Airbags deployed. The cars were listed as totaled and towed away.

The report did not indicate road conditions.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted the State Patrol at the site of the crash. The Geneva Fire Department, Clarks Grove first responders and Gold Cross ambulance also responded.
