Chamber seeks parade input

The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce is asking for the public’s input about the theme for this year’s Third of July Parade.

To give input, people can visit the chamber’s website at www.albertlea.org. The link is under the “Events & Links” tab.

Possible themes are the following:

• Red, White and Blue Old Time Traditions

• Fantastic Adventures in American History

• TV shows of the ’70s and ’80s.

• Red, White and Blue Hollywood Style

• TV Characters Patriotic Style

• Every Star Counts

• The Many Faces of America’s Freedom

• Agree to See Albert Lea

• Flee to Albert Lea

• Pioneering Families

• “Happy Days”

• 1950s Theme

Parade participants will decorate their floats to whatever theme is selected. Voting ends April 11.

Parade themes in the last seven years were “Celebrating Our Armed Forces” in 2012, “Freeborn County, Past, Present and Future” in 2011, “Hometown Heroes” in 2010, “Heart of America” in 2009, “Echoes of the Past” in 2008, “American Moments” in 2007 and “Remembering the Past, Embracing the Future” in 2006.
