ST. PAUL — Gov. Mark Dayton is set to announce his choices for the board of directors for a state website to help the uninsured and others obtain coverage under federal health care changes.

Dayton plans a Tuesday briefing to reveal his six appointees to the board of MNSure, also known as the health insurance exchange. That’s the website due to be up and running Oct. 1 to let individuals and business owners compare and purchase private insurance plans.

State officials think about 300,000 uninsured Minnesotans will get coverage through the exchange.

One of the seven seats on the board is automatically filled by the state’s human services commissioner. Dayton’s only other requirement for picking the other six is that they must not have financial ties to health insurance firms or medical providers.
