Car tampered with

A 2005 Chevy Impala was reported rummaged through at 5:27 p.m. Thursday at 85483 South Island Circle, Hollandale, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Phone scam reported

An Albert Lea man reported a phone scam to police at 9:50 a.m. Thursday. According to police, a woman had called pretending to be his granddaughter and asked for $1,450 in bail money.

Lights reported stolen

Solar lights were reported stolen from a yard at 902 James Ave., Albert Lea, at 11:38 a.m. Thursday, according to police.

 

Fire reported at Thorne Crest

A small fire reportedly started at Thorne Crest Retirement Community at 11:31 a.m. Thursday while a resident was cooking. The fire was put out by a staff member at the facility before the Albert Lea Fire Department arrived.

 

House broken into

A house at 1208 St. Joseph Ave., Albert Lea, was reportedly broken into at 10:56 p.m. Thursday, according to police.

 

Woman arrested for theft

Albert Lea police arrested Michelle Marie Ahles, 50, for theft from Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave., at 8:44 p.m. Thursday after she allegedly attempted to return items to the store that had not been paid for, reports stated.
