KQAQ 970 AM Classic Country Legends will host America’s largest country music talent search and radio promotion in June.

The talent search is open to country vocal artists who may use instruments or provide music backgrounds. The act cannot have been performed on a record charted in the top 100 country format or billboard within the 18 months preceding the local competition.

Approximately $200,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded nationwide.

“We consider the Texaxo Country Showdown one of the most anticipated events in country music each year,” Ron Hunter, KQAQ’s program director said.

To be considered a completed entry form must be submitted with a demo of at least two songs to Power 96/KQAQ studio at 109 E. Clark St. in Albert Lea or to kqaq@classiccountrylegends.com.

Entry forms are available at the KQAQ studio, Paramount Theatre in Austin, Morris Furniture in Albert Lea or online at www.classiccountrylegends.com or www.power96rocker.com.
