On behalf of The Friends of the Albert Lea Public Library, Karen Callahan and I wish to thank our volunteers and customers for another successful book sale, which took place in June. We would also like to thank the Sentence to Serve workers who are instrumental in our book sale preparations. Thank you also goes to the city employees, especially the Engineering Department, for working with us and making the garage and parking available. Between snowstorms and Albert Lea City Hall maintenance projects, it has been a challenging spring for them. The Friends support library programming which might not otherwise be available for library patrons. The Friends appreciate donations of gently used books, but because of the volume and limited space, we cannot accept magazines or sets of encyclopedias. Remember to visit our bookstore located on the first floor of City Hall. We hope to see everyone in the fall for our next sale.
