First Team

Allison Songstad, Alden-Conger, senior, pitcher

Allison Songstad led the Knights by throwing every pitch of every inning in every game for the past three seasons. She showed quality control by only walking nine batters all year and striking out 76. Songstad also excelled at the plate. She earned a .363 batting average and had nine RBIs.

 

Tara Simon, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, senior, third baseman

Tara Simon was the only player in the area to have a batting average greater than .500 (.535) and an on-base percentage greater than .600 (.612). Simon’s 20 RBIs were second in the area, and she had one double, one home run, two stolen bases and 15 runs scored.

 

Jamie Williamson, Glenville-Emmons, senior, catcher

Jamie Williamson earned a team-best .432 batting average and held down the fort at the catcher position to lead the Wolverines to a 6-8 record. She also led Glenville-Emmons with six doubles, 13 runs scored, one home run, 13 stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .562. Williamson also was second on the team with 12 RBIs.

 

Anna Stork, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, sophomore, first baseman

Anna Stork was one of five players in the area to have a batting average greater than .400. Her .432 batting average was tied with Jamie Williamson of Glenville-Emmons for the second-best in the area. Stork also scored 16 runs and was never picked off in 13 stolen base attempts. She earned nine RBIs, one triple and had an on-base percentage of .510.

 

Megan Kortan, Albert Lea, sophomore, shortstop

Megan Kortan led the Tigers at the plate with a batting average of .391 to assist Albert Lea in two postseason victories. She also led Albert Lea with a .425 on-base percentage to go along with five doubles, a triple and four stolen bases.

 

Cassie Gilster, Alden-Conger, sophomore, third baseman

Cassie Gilster led the area with 22 RBIs and posted a batting average of .381. She amassed two doubles, two triples and an in-the-park home run this year for the Knights. Gilster was also an All-Conference selection.

 

Dominique Villarreal, Albert Lea, senior, catcher

Dominique Villarreal kept aggressive base-runners at bay all season from the catcher position. She also led the Tigers and all area teams with nine doubles to go along with a .322 batting average and a .394 on-base percentage.

 

Brooke Reyerson, Alden-Conger, junior, first baseman

Brooke Reyerson led Alden-Conger’s explosive lineup with a .405 batting average, 10 RBIs, three doubles and a triple. Reyerson was an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection this year after completing knee surgery rehab.

 

Haley Harms, Albert Lea, sophomore, pitcher

Haley Harms was Albert Lea’s key weapon at the pitcher position. She amassed a record of 7-12 and threw for 123 1/3 innings out of 125 innings. She struck out 54 batters and walked 47. She was also led the team in scoring with 15 runs scored and had the second-highest batting average on the team at .338.

 

Second Team

Anna Lundberg, NRHEG, freshman, pitcher

Anna Lundberg has big shoes to fill after the Panthers’ starting pitcher was lost for the season to a knee injury. As a freshman, Lundberg filled the pitching void with a record of 9-5. She struck out 64 batters, walked 41 and earned a 2.74 ERA.

 

Hannah Lundberg, NRHEG, junior, catcher

Hannah Lundberg led the area with 15 stolen bases, and she was never picked off. She drove in 17 runs on the season, the second-highest total of any player on the Panthers’ roster. Lundberg’s batting average was .375, and her on-base percentage was .553.

 

Madi Ziebell, Glenville-Emmons, sophomore, pitcher

Madi Ziebell led Glenville-Emmons from the pitching circle by striking out 69 batters, the second-highest total in the area. She also walked 42 batters. Ziebell earned a batting average of .326 and led the team with 15 RBIs. She had three stolen bases and hit four doubles and a triple.

 

Kelli Harrington, NRHEG, sophomore, outfielder

Kelli Harrington was third on the Panther’s roster with a batting average of .378 and an on-base percentage of .469. She also hit one home run and was tied for second on the team with three doubles.

 

Taylor Thompson, Albert Lea, sophomore, outfielder

Taylor Thompson led the Tigers with seven stolen bases. Her batting average (.359) was third on the team, and she was second on the team in total hits (23). Thompson scored 11 runs and knocked in seven RBIs on the year.

 

Kasey Knutson, Alden-Conger, sophomore, catcher

Kasey Knutson led the Knights with five assists at the catcher position. She had a batting average of .371 to go along with 13 RBIs. Alden-Conger head coach Gary Nelson mentioned Knutson is an enthusiastic player with a strong arm.

 

Lynzee Underdahl, Albert Lea, junior, outfielder

Lynzee Underdahl finished the season with 16 hits, 8 RBIs, six runs scored and a pair of doubles. She also earned one stolen base and was hit by a pitch on one occasion. Underdahl’s on-base percentage was .333.

 

Liesel Theusch, Alden-Conger, sophomore, centerfielder

Liesel Theusch had a batting average of .333 for Alden-Conger. She had six RBIs, six doubles and a pair of triples. Theusch led the Knights defensively in center field.

 

Jocelyn Kluender, Glenville-Emmons, 8th grade, third baseman

Jocelyn Kluender stepped up for the Wolverines at third base and earned a batting average of .325. She hit six RBIs and two doubles. Kluender had an on-base percentage of .386, and she had one stolen base.
