Members of REACT and area volunteers were on duty to serve refreshments from 5 p.m. July 3 to 5 p.m. July 5.

The coffee, lemonade, orange drink, iced tea and cookies that were served helped persuade motorists to stop and rest up for safety’s sake.

The VFW donated homemade cookies, and area merchants, churches and service clubs donated refreshments.

Motorists from 37 states, two Canadian provinces and two foreign countries were served.

REACT is an organization with groups all over the world in which members participate as volunteers to provide highway safety and emergency communications via citizen band and General Mobile radios.
