Man arrested after alleged assault

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Howard Johnson after an alleged “potentially serious” assault at 74789 270th St., Clarks Grove, at 2:24 a.m. today, said Chief Deputy Glen Strom. He declined to give other details.

1 arrested for meth possession

Albert Lea police arrested Esperanza Beatrice Cardenas, 23, for fifth-degree methampethamine possession and fifth-degree narcotics possession after police reportedly conducted a welfare check at 504 1/2 Bridge Ave., according to reports. Police arrested Matthew Dennis Smith, 25, on two Washington County warrants.

 

Counterfeit bill reported

A $50 counterfeit bill was reported at the McDonald’s, 609 E. Main St., at 11:26 a.m. Thursday, according to Albert Lea police. The bill was reportedly passed on Tuesday.

 

Man cited for driving more than 100 mph

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies cited Christopher Earl Adams for speeding and equipment violations after he was allegedly driving more than 100 mph in Worth County at 7:39 p.m. Wednesday, according to reports. He was pulled over near U.S. Highway 65 and State Line Road.
