Mayo Clinic Health System has 4 scholarships available

Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea is offering scholarships to students currently enrolled in college or technical school and non-traditional students.

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who have successfully completed at least one year at an accredited college or technical school.

Students who live in Albert Lea’s service area, have a GPA of 3.0 or better and a declared major in a health care field are eligible.

Two other $1,000 scholarships are available to non-traditional students who are pursing post secondary education five or more years after completing high school or receiving a GED. To be eligible students must live within Albert Lea’s service area and plan on an education in the health care field.

Scholarships will be awarded primarily on the basis of commitment and leadership. Academic ability, attitude and values will also be taken into consideration.

Recipients of the Mayo Clinic Health System scholarship will not be eligible to apply for future scholarships offered from the Albert Lea facility.

Applications must be returned by Sept. 9. The Scholarship Committee will review applications and decisions will be reached by Sept. 28. Scholarships for high school seniors will be offered again in the spring of 2014.
