These are volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Pat Stumme, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.

Making sense of Medicare Part D: Being detail oriented and a good listener helps you help folks make informed decisions for health care and community options. This is the focus for trained volunteers. Training is Aug. 15 for southeast Minnesota counties.

Getting ready for school: Families and students are making plans for children’s school and activity time. Answers are in the Youth Activity Guide distributed before school begins at the family conferences/orientation. Volunteers are needed in Alden, Albert Lea and Glenville. Call 377-7433 for your day and time to help families get their planners and connect with your community again.

Front desk phone answering: The Senior Resources Office, Skyline Plaza, West Main Street, Albert Lea needs telephone help for half days, two to three days a week. You can get additional details at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
