Wolverines fall in shootout

The Glenville-Emmons football team scored 34 points in a losing effort Friday at Lyle/Pacelli.

The Athletics racked up 56 points in the win.

Marshal Hall led the Wolverines on the ground with 167 yards and two touchdowns.

Glenville-Emmons quarterback, Christian Voss, threw for 100 yards and a score.

The Wolverines fell to 0-2 on the season.

Next, Glenville-Emmons will play Grand Meadow in its home opener at 7 p.m. Friday.

Grand Meadow is 2-0. The Superlarks beat Lyle/Pacelli 47-30 and Le Roy-Ostrander 64-14.

 

Panthers earn 1st win of season

The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva football team beat Waterville-Elysian-Morristown 21-12 on Friday.

The Panthers gained 230 yards rushing. Dillon Parpart led NRHEG with 169 yards on the ground and three touchdowns. Nick Bartness added 58 yards on 15 carries.

“Our kids played really well up front, and Dillon and Nick ran the ball very hard,” NRHEG head coach Dan Stork said.

The Panthers improved to 1-1 overall.

“We really needed this win,” Stork said. “Hopefully it gives us confidence for Week 3 when we play a very good Medford team.”

 

Vikings win 2nd straight contest

A productive first half led Northwood-Kensett to a 24-8 win on Friday over Clarksville.

The Vikings compiled 220 yards on the ground and held the Indians to 208 total yards.

Mitchell Athey led Northwood-Kensett’s rushing attack with 68 yards on 13 carries.

Brandon Brockman earned a team-high 17 tackles.

Next, the Vikings play at Rockford at 7 p.m. Friday.
