Palmer Granholt, 62, Bloomer, Wis.

Palmer “Spank” Granholt, 62, of rural Bloomer, Wis., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Palmer “Bud” and Betty (Bothum) Granholt in Albert Lea on Aug. 16, 1951. He was raised on a farm in rural Glenville. He married LuAnn Lee in October of 2005, making their home in Bloomer, Wis.

He is survived by his wife: LuAnn; children: Mark Granholt of Scottsdale, Ariz.; Becky of Colorado and Chad Sommer of Bloomer; granddaughters: Ashleigh, Elle and Claire Reece of Burnsville; mother: Betty of Albert Lea; brother: John (Ann) Granholt of New Auburn, Wis.; sister: Kathy (Greg) Nelson of Glenville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by son: Rod Sommer; father: Palmer “Bud” Granholt Sr.; brother: Ronnie; infant sister and grandparents.
