Wedding: Hajek & Nelson

Beth Hajek and Derek Nelson of Winona were married at 4 p.m. June 29, 2013, at the Hoium family cabin on Spider Lake in Nevis.

The Rev. Darrell Morton performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Vincent and Nancy Hajek of Glenville. Grandparents are Arlene and the late George Hajek of Glenville and Richard and the late Beverly Hoium of Albert Lea.

The groom is the son of Larry and Paulette Nelson of Albert Lea. Grandparents are the late Rudolph and Truly Nelson of rural London and the late Lorenz and Viola Lorenzen of London.

The maids of honor were Kylie and Anissa Nelson, of Albert Lea, daughters of the groom.

Bridesmaids were Lisa Hajek, of Glenville, sister-in-law of the bride, Amy Hajek, of Austin, sister-in-law of the bride, Sheree Nelson, of Rochester, sister-in-law of the groom, Gina Nelson, of Moorhead, sister-in-law of the groom, and Shelley Nelson, of Stillwater, sister-in-law of the groom. The flower girl was Lauryn Hajek, of Austin, niece of the bride and daughter of Nathan and Amy Hajek.

The best man was Nathaniel Nelson, of Albert Lea, son of the groom. Groomsmen were Ryan Hajek, of Glenville, brother of the bride, Nathan Hajek, of Austin, brother of the bride, Jeremy Nelson, of Rochester, brother of the groom, Tim Nelson, of Moorhead, brother of the groom, and Kirk Nelson, of Stillwater, brother of the groom. Ring bearers were Logan and Ethan Hajek, of Glenville, nephews of the bride and the sons of Ryan and Lisa Hajek.

The music was by a three-string quartet led by Melanie Hanson of Bemidji State University.

The bride is a graduate of Glenville-Emmons High School, Bemidji State University and St. Cloud University with a master’s degree in counseling psychology: school counseling. She is employed as a counselor in the Wabasha-Kellogg School District.

The groom is a graduate of Lyle High School and Regents College. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Minnesota National Guard. He is employed with AAA as the regional life insurance sales manager for Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and Nebraska.

A dinner was held at Bullwinkles in Nevis following the ceremony and a formal reception was held on July 13 at the Bohemian Brick Hall in Myrtle.

Following the ceremony the couple stayed at the Hoium family cabin in Nevis.

A wedding trip is planned to Aruba.
