Arnold Harry Bauman, 85, of Kiester, died on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Kee Theater in Kiester. Visitation will be Friday before the service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the theater. The Rev. Katie Pals will officiate. Arnold Harry Bauman was born July 16, 1928, in Kiester to Harry Irvin Bauman and Lillie (Wegner) Bauman. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Greenfield July 31, 1949, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kiester. Arnold served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Alaska, where he was joined by his wife, and they enjoyed their time there. He farmed in the Kiester area until 1960. Arnold owned and operated the Kee Theater for 30 years from 1957 to 1987, and continued to work there into his retirement years. He also worked at Streater in Albert Lea for 28 years and retired in August 1990. He enjoyed his retirement years — especially going out to dinner with his wife at The Grand. He had a lifelong enjoyment of movies and possessed a strong work ethic that he passed on to his sons.

Arnold is survived by his loving wife, Patty; two sons Randy (special friend Christine Picior) Bauman of Mesquite, Nev., and Al (Hope) Bauman of Kiester; four grandchildren Katie (Ryan) Maier of Belle Plaine, Arial (fiancé Gabriel Simpson) Bauman of Plantation, Fla., Aric (Alissa) Bauman of Rochester and Calli (Darin) Stenzel of Wells; two great-grandchildren Ainsley Maier and Thaine Maier; a sister, Marlene (Maurice Irwin) Estebo of Rockford, Ill.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Caroline.
