After sweeping Newman Catholic 2-0 at the Central Springs tournament on Sept. 14, the Northwood-Kensett showed on Monday it hadn’t lost a step with a 3-0 sweep of the Knights.

Game scores were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-15.

Chandler Capitani led Northwood-Kensett with nine digs. Katelyn Jaspers and Hattie Davidson combined for 15 more.

On the season, Jaspers and Capitani are both in the top 10 of the Corn Bowl Conference in total digs. Jaspers is seventh with 206, and Capitani is eighth with 201. Davidson is sixth in the conference with 196 total kills.

Kayla Branstad earned a team-high eight kills and four blocks in the win.

Next, the Vikings (13-6 overall) play at CAL Community at 7 p.m. today, and they end the regular season at the Garner-Hayfield tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday.

In the first round of the Class 1A Region 5 tournament, Northwood-Kensett plays Newman Catholic again. This time, the first serve is set at Mason City for 7 p.m. Tuesday.
